It has been awhile since I have wrote. I hope all is well with each of you. Things are pretty good here. My brother had surgery today to get a lump removed, but it looks like everything is good. I have had some doctors appointments this week and will have the results next week. Let's just continue to pray that the cancer is gone. The more I read about cancer, the more I realize that I am a miracle. Since the cancer was in stage 4, it is pretty amazing that I have had 3 clear PET scans. If God chose to take me from here, I wouldn't be sad because I know where I am going, but I think He wants me here for a while! It is overwhelming to think back over the past year and to think of all the prayers that went up on my behalf. I believe that God heard each one of them.
Please pray for a friend of mine. Her name is Erin Adkins and she has been battling cancer now for 3 years. The Lord has blessed her with a great man and they are getting married Feb. 25th. The doctors are giving her a break to get married and go on her honeymoon and then she will resume treatment when she returns home. Prayer is a powerful thing and our God is BIG. Let's pray that the recent spots that came up on her lung will be gone!! Thanks for praying!!

I had surgery the Thursday before I went home for Christmas break. Everything went well...just the normal soreness and tiredness. The day after surgery, we went home to WV. The Black's christmas party was that evening. That was a good evening. It's always good to visit w/ those you haven't seen in a while. The next day was Christmas Eve. I got my puppy, Mocha. She is a chocolate lab and has been so good for me. Jason was gone x-mas eve, which was kinda weird. At least he was there x-mas day. The whole break was relaxing and good. Mocha and I came back to DC on New Years Day. This past week has been very productive. I have been able to work at the church because the ASP doesn't start until tomorrow. At church there are no distractions! It is great! Hope everyone who reads this is doing well! I'll write again soon...

It's more than half way through December and I'm just getting around to writing again. It has been a busy month, as most December's are. I moved the first weekend of the month, our ASP Christmas party and older kids incentive were last weekend and this weekend was DayBreak's Christmas store. I did go to an outside ice-skating rink for the first time a couple of weeks ago....it was really fun. Mom is flying up here on Wednesday and we are going Christmas shopping (I haven't started yet). Thursday is my surgery and Friday mom is driving me home for the holidays. I'm excited to go home. I might be out of it because of surgery, but I have the first 3 days I'm home booked full of stuff. It's all our normal Christmas traditions and I don't want to miss them. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!!...and remember, Jesus is the reason for the season!

Let's see...where do I start. Wednesday I flew home. I went to the mall with my brother Jeremy and then we had lunch together. I had a hair appointment and then went to Julie's house to visit with her mom and dad. Then I met my family to eat dinner at Rio Grande. I love that place!!! Last, we went home and watched The Polar Express...which was great because my dad had a fire going in the fire place...one of my favorite things.
My dad's brother, wife and kids came in Thanksgiving day from Atlanta. All my mom's side came over too (they all live in WV). We ate mom's cooking at 2. I would list everything we ate, but that would take forever. It was great, as always. Then we watched Elf. I love that movie! After that, more family came over and we just hung out at the house.
Friday I did nothing. I'm not even kidding you. I watched two football games and went running. Oh yeah, we did go out to Best Buy and bought 3 movies. We made cookies and watched Catch Me If You Can. Saturday, we went to the mall and to dinner with the Porters (it was Cameron's b-day).
Sunday, I went to church. It was just me and dad because both my brothers were sick and my mom stayed home with them. I'm telling you, I am sooooo blessed to have a church family like I have back home. I was telling a friend the other day how overwhelming it is to know you are loved that much by a group of people. And just think...God's love for us is even greater!!
So, here I am, back in DC. Julie and Hutch bought a house and we are moving this weekend. I went and saw it for the first time tonight. It is so cute! I hope you all had a great holiday weekend. I'll write again soon...

I talked to my doctor today and they said my blood work came back positive for some thyriod disease. Not a big deal though...I'll just start some medication tomorrow and then go see a specialist in that area. I'm glad because a lot of the symptoms that I have had lately are probably due to this like fatigue, weight gain, etc. Well, I actually haven't gained that much weight, but I haven't been able to loose it like I normally am able too. The doctor said that this all probably happened when I received my radiation treatment. I also talked with my plastic surgeon and I go to see her next Tuesday so we can set up a time to have surgery. Hopefully we can work something out for December. Work is going well...I'm just glad to be back full time. That's all for now.....
