I got this from my aunt's blog, but I thought it was worth putting up on my page too.....

this came to my inbox today...it's from crosswalk.com:

Eight Jewels in a Godly Woman's Crown

1. Count pain as your friend. It is an opportunity to experience the power and majesty of God in ways you could never experience Him in the mundane of life.

2. Don't just sit there when darkness falls. Move. I mean that literally. Take whatever action you can to tap into the mind of God and get His wisdom on your circumstances.

3. Commit to a long arduous journey, knowing joy comes in the morning (Acts 20:17-38).

4. Do not be detoured by anyone or anything from the goal of knowing intimately the heart of God.

5. Renew your mind by reflecting upon the character of God. He owes you no explanations but welcomes your questions and doubts. Focus on what you know about Him, rather than what you don't know (Ephesians 3:11-21).

6. Refresh your hope by reclaiming the precious promises God has made to you (Psalm 44:22).

7. Do not be discouraged by those who should be able to help you but don't.

8. Refuse to let go of your biblical worldview and ...

Trust that God does all things well.

I can't even believe it is already May! Things here are busy. I am working part-time down at DayBreak and have been very blessed to be able to continue that. I love seeing the kids and have the amazing priviledge to teach them so many things, especially how to mature their walks with God. There is a major spiritual warfare going on down there, so please keep our kids in your prayers.

As for me, I am doing good. Treatments are hard, but I'm making it! :) I have an amazing best friend (who I live with) and my family is making trips up here a couple weekends a month. I have also been blessed with so many gracious and genuine friends here who have lifted my spirits in so many ways. I receive cards in the mail everyday (mostly from people I don't know), which is so humbling. I have so many things to be thankful for!!! I found out today that I will probably have chemo treatments for the next 5 months, but that will depend on future scans. It's all kind of up in the air. I am up for whatever though.

I have shared with you about a friend of mine who is also battling cancer. Her name is Erin. She lives in WV w/ her husband Brian. She is 25 years old and has been such an inspiration to me over the past year. Erin has been fighting her cancer for 3 years now and is still undergoing treatment. She receives her treatment on Mondays and goes home with a pump. Please continue to pray for Erin. She is such a remarkable woman whom God is using greatly during this difficult time. Her faith is hard to even put into words. I wish you all had the opportunity to meet her.

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers! I hope all is well with each of you.

love ya,
sarah

Hey everybody! Sorry I haven't written you all yet to let you know what is going on with me. We started chemo last Wednesday and I had surgery last Friday to get my port put back in. During surgery, a part of my lung collapsed, so I was in the hospital until Monday afternoon. My birthday was Sunday, we we had my birthday party in the hospital. It was really fun. I had one of my favorite meals and all my family and close friends were there. We had cake and ice-cream, too. I am home and doing MUCH better!!

I went to
church yesterday to fill out my papers to go back to part-time. I will still be working at the ASP during program hours (M-Thurs.) 3-8 and then will be off Friday for chemo treatments. I don't know how long I will be receiving treatment....we haven't discussed that yet. My doctor's main concern is to get this under control and she is optimistic that we can. I
appreciate your continued prayers! Love ya!
