The beach was great....as usual. Went with the Porter's this year. Our place was nice...we had our own walkway to the beach which was a plus. Sunday, we played tennis after being in the sun all day. Monday I walked 2 miles, played frisbee and swam in the ocean...and then after dinner, we played put-put golf. Tuesday and Wednesday I didn't do anything at all. I couldn't hardly move from the couch and my legs were in a lot of pain. I guess I over exerted myself on Sunday and Monday. Thursday, I went parasailing...that was fun. Friday I went jet-skiing and finished my book. We also went shopping a couple of nights, which is always fun. I never used to like shopping...I still don't go a lot, but when I do, it's so dangerous!
I tried to lay out some, but got burnt both times I tried. I know the chemo has a lot to do with that, but seriously, sometimes I wonder if I'm from the same family...jk!! Everyone (my mom, dad, and brothers) gets soooooo dark. Next year we are planning to go with about 30 + people. We looked at this one house that looks like SO much fun!! I can't wait...only a year! :)
We drove back to D.C. today and are going to eat here in a little bit. Tomorrow, we'll all go to church and then my family and the Porter's will head back to WV. Next weekend, my grandfather is coming for a visit...I'm excited about that. He hasn't been up here for a while.
DayBreak has a mission team coming this week from Tennessee. They were here last year and we just loved them. I'm looking forward to working/serving with them this week.
As far as my health goes, I'm still on chemo. I have another scan on Monday and then we'll go from there. I'm learning that having cancer is a waiting game a lot. That's probably why God has been working on me with patience for a few years now. It's hard for my doctors to give me a plan, because you base treatments from scan to scan. So, she might have an idea about what she wants to do, but won't put it in concrete because it could change with the next scan results. The plan for this week is a scan on Monday, meet with the doctor on Thursday and then chemo on Friday.
Please pray for my friend Erin who I have shared with you about before. She was in the hospital for 4 weeks and was able to go home only to be readmitted the next day with what they thought was kidney stones. Turns out it wasn't kidney stones, but the doctors want her to resume chemo asap. She has been through so much, but is a fighter. Please continue to pray for her.
Hope you all are having a great weekend...
love your guts :) sarah

Hey all! It's been a while....sorry. I went home to WV last weekend for my brother's graduation. I had a really good time! :) If you want to see pictures, go to http://www.myspace.com/mochawv. I had a scan on Monday and it showed some places in my liver. I had a bone scan yesterday and it was normal!! We will continue with the same medicines I have been taking. Life here is busy. The end of the school year is here, so it is taking up much of my time. I am looking forward to the beach next week! Thanks for your continued prayers!!

Yesterday I had a chemo treatment. I wish I could say that it was a breeze, but I can't. I spent the entire day either in my bed or on the couch. I feel a little better today. Still not able to eat...my stomach is really messed up. So, I just wait it out for a few days and then I feel better. I hope you all have been able to read my past couple of postings...they really spoke to me. I am hoping to go home here in a couple of weeks and spend some quality time with my family. I don't get to do that often, and I think we all need to be together for a while. A week is better than nothing! :)
Please continue to keep my friend Erin in your prayers. She delayed her chemo treatment she was supposed to get last Monday because her doctors wanted her to have a PET scan. She had the scan on Wednesday and will find out Monday what is going on there.
Thanks for keeping us both in your prayers!! I hope all of you have a blessed weekend! :)
love ya, sarah

This quote below is AMAZING!!!
"Sometimes when I am learning to trust God more, it feels like a free fall. I am giving up control. Letting go and trusting feels like falling, because i've been trying so desperately to hang on, navigate my circumstances, anticipate the unknown, and find order in chaos. For me, trusting is learning to breathe during the fall. Trusting is believing with my whole life that God will catch me. He promises to keep His promises. He is able. He is strong. His heart toward me is good. He wants even more for me than I can dream. He is bigger than all of us."
