Last night at church the praise team sang this song. I love the words. If you get a chance you can go to his website and listen.
"The Miracle of Christmas" by Steven Curtis Chapman
A child is born tonight in Bethlehem His mother holds him close and sings a sweet lullaby All the world is sleeping unaware that God himself has come in the night
The shepherds tremble as the angels sing And in their song the voice of God speaks peace to the world A miracle has happened, God has come and God has spoken But the miracle has only just begun
And the God who spoke is speaking still And the God who came still comes And the miracle that happened still happens in the heart that will believe And we see (receive) the miracle of Christmas
So come to Bethlehem again and see The One who's come to rescue us, our Saviour and King Bring your past, the joy, the sorrow, all your hope to find tomorrow
And hear the words again, fear not and know that God is near
For the God who spoke is speaking still And the God who came still comes And the miracle that happened still happens in the heart that will believe And receive the miracle of Christmas
Believe the miracle of Christmas Will you believe?

Hey everyone! It's been a while, but honestly I haven't been on the computer much. I started PT/OT yesterday. It was good. I have a bunch of exercises I have to do at home everyday. My goal, of course, is to get back to my normal strength. Since I have basically been laying around since September, I'm really weak. I'm getting better though...sometimes I walk without my walker, especially around the house. It really is a miracle that I am physically where I am right now. I'm able to walk. My headaches are minimal and they don't even hurt that bad. So, THANK YOU for your prayers, because I know they are working. I'm praying now for physical and emotional strength and for my seizure symtoms to completely go away. Tonight I am going to my cousin's choir performance. I'm looking forward to that. I know this is short, but I will write again soon.
love your guts! :) sarah

sarah beth had the filter inserted yesterday and was home yesterday evening! she did very well! she and kathleen came to church this morning to hear the praise team and choir practice our Christmas music - we were so surprised to see sarah beth walk in the door! such a blessing, and somewhat overwhelming, truth be told. she looked really good. smiling. her eyes are looking brighter - more like our girl. i told her that her eyes are looking more like sarah beth's eyes and like she's really in there...she said she feels like her brain is really starting to work again. this is good.
PT and OT start on wednesday. she's doing it the outpatient way and will be there for several hours the days she's scheduled.
ask God to help her continue to persevere as she has throughout this whole journey, even when things get tougher than she thinks she can deal with. ask Him to fill her with His strength, peace and comfort. ask that she be able to sense Him with her always - that she would not for even a moment feel alone. ask Him to let her not only know that we are praying for her, but to actually feel your prayers for her. and in all things to carry her through as He sees fit. He is able to do so much more than we could ask or imagine.
thank you for drawing near to God and for speaking with Him about sarah beth. i know that He loves both the closeness and the conversation.

first of all, let me say that sarah beth has been improving - the fever is gone and she's been able to begin outpatient PT and OT.
however, she has continued to have leg pain, and had a CT scan this morning. this revealed a blood clot in her groin. she is going to be having a greenfield (vascular) filter inserted today. please continue in prayer for her.
and again i will repeat myself: THANK YOU for caring for and praying for sarah beth.

hi everyone! i know you were probably all as surprised as i was to log on the other day and see an entry from sarah beth. i was so happy! i got on to update for her and there was no need because she had posted for herself. that was quite an accomplishment for her. it is hard for her to do, but it was SO good to read her words from her own heart and hands. i'm looking forward to the next time she decides to surprise us all.
she had a good thanksgiving weekend, full of family and friends and lots of comings and goings to and from the napier house. if you know sarah beth at all, you know she LOVES to be with the people she loves. it is something she cherishes. so this weekend was perfect for her. our family got to spend the evening with them wednesday and they had even more family and friends there on thursday. she got to spend some time at the mall on friday afternoon, which is kind of a tradition for them. kathleen said they got a wheelchair from church so she could go. she enjoyed herself!
sarah beth is still very weak. she's able to get around with her walker, but very slowly. her appetite is good. she's been struggling with a fever for a bit. she carried a low grade fever in the hospital, but it has increased since she's been home. medicine controls it for a time but it does not go away entirely. she's had some xrays and some blood work, which were good. so we're not sure about the cause of the fever. you can make this a matter of prayer as you are praying for her.
they are working on details for PT and OT at an area rehab facility. instead of outpatient, she will be doing inpatient. she isn't the least bit excited about this, but she's going to give it try and see how it goes. (another topic for your conversations with God!)
thank you for all of your prayers for sarah beth. our youngest son prayed tonight for her. he said, "i pray for sarah. please continue to work in her and keep her alive and make her 100% better." we have no idea what the plan of God might be in this situation. we do know that He can heal her if He will. we will trust Him no matter what. thank you that you are joining with us all in praying her through this trial which never seems to end but instead is always so full of new twists and turns.
and thank you for the comments you leave for her, even in her "absence" from making her own entries. your interest and your support mean so very much to her.
