I had a PET scan last week (the kind that scans your whole body). I found out today that everything looks good. I'm so pumped! I'm so ready for warm weather. It is hard to get motivated when it is cold. I'm going on vacation with my aunt, uncle and cousins in April out west for a week....I'm looking forward to that. Well, that's all for now...hope you all have a good day!

Last week was a good one. Sunday I visited with Aunt Jan, Emmy, Cassie, Sarah, Michael, Ellis and Alaire at mamaw and papaw's. I wish I could see them more often...they are so fun! Tuesday I had lunch with my friend Liz, which was great because we haven't hung out in quite a while. Wednesday I went to Marshall. I'm taking a class called Literacy Acquisition. Thursday I went to lunch and a movie with my Aunt Martha and Uncle Dale. They crack me up and it's always good to hang out with them. Thursday evening I went to my friend Carrie's house. Friday I got my hair cut, then I went to Greg and Leigh Ann's to check on Max (he had surgery that morning). He was doing good...laying on the couch eating a blue popsicle. Then I went to dinner and a movie with my friend Liz. Twice in a week! We had fun and 27 Dresses was really cute. Saturday my brother Jason went to the military ball in Charleston, so mom and I went over to Meagans to help her pick out her dress and see them off. Dad and Brian took lots of pictures. They really do make a beautiful couple (Jason and Meagan that is!) Then I met up with Jeremy and we went to the Marshall basketball game Saturday evening. Yesterday after church we ate a great lunch that mom made and then literally went to the couch to watch football for the rest of the day.

I am able to do a lot more during the day than last semester, which is awesome. But, don't worry...I still go to bed early and wake up late. I sleep a lot!! That's all for now...I hope you all had a good weekend.

I wish I had words to describe how God showed Himself to me this past week on two seperate occasions. The only way I can describe it is that I am in awe. The first occasion was when an unexpected friend came to my house and shared with my parents and I how God had used him to help me with my medical expenses. It's an incredible story and can only be explained as a "God thing". The second occasion is a spaghetti dinner that my church had for me on Saturday. I don't know really what I was expecting before I headed into Saturday evening. I know that I was nervous all day. I've mentioned this before, but it is difficult to be on the receiving end of things. It's hard to accept a gift that you don't deserve. To see the kids at my church serving the hundreds that came and the adults that worked in the kitchen for hours was so humbling. And then all the people that came out to support me was overwhelming. It was a huge reminder to me that I am not in this alone.

I wrote an entry a couple years ago about how I had fallen into a deep depression and how scary that situation was. To my surprise after this past surgery I again started to have some of those feelings again, but not as bad as the first time. I didn't want to get out of the bed. I cried a lot. I would literally have to force myself out of the bed and just try to make it through the day. Praise the Lord, things are getting better. I still have times when I'm struggling, but for the most part I'm back to enjoying life.

That's another reason why this past week meant so much to me was because through these acts of kindness, God showed me again that He is with me and will provide me what I need at the time I need it, whether it be physically, emotionally or spiritually.

The two words "thank you" mean more than two words to me. It's a lot of emotions and gratitude that words cannot express that are wrapped up into those two little words. I hope that made sense! :)

So, I thank you with all my heart...

love your guts,
sarah

It's been a while since I last wrote. Julie and Gracie were in for the holidays....it was great to be with them. Julia came in for New Year's. It was really good to see her, too. I haven't been doing much lately, just trying to get back into the swing of things. I might take a class at Marshall this spring. Hopefully that will work out. It is pretty here today. I've decided that I really enjoy warm sunny days.

Oh yeah...I'm able to drive again! I haven't driven since September, so it's good to be on the road again.

I hope you all have a great day! :)

Before surgery, the doctor was going over everything that could happen. I don't remember much of what he said...I actually don't remember much for weeks prior to my surgery. A lot of it is a blur. Anyway, the miracle is I have all the feeling in my left side, my speech is fine and I'm getting stronger everyday. When a doctor is reluctant to do a surgery twice, you kind of get the feeling that something could go wrong, but I knew that the surgery had to be done. I remember sitting down with my parents and telling them we had to do it. I know that there were a ton of people praying for me and I believe that is why everything has turned out the way it has. I still have a ways to go....and sometimes it's not easy, but I just try to take advice from those wiser than me and take it one day at a time.

This past weekend I went to my aunt and uncle's Christmas open house. Every year they invite the church over to their house to hang out and fellowship. She is the best cook ever and everyone was enjoying her food (and hanging out with everyone was fun too). Saturday I went to the mall with my parents. This probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do because of the crowds. We were in front of Adams Hallmark and everything started spinning, so I popped an ativan and we went home...too much stimulation for the brain right now I suppose. Sunday I went to church and back again Sunday evening for the youth's program. They are so good! I hope all of you had a great weekend....I'll write again soon...
