These past few days have been a little frustrating. Since we have been back from Sloan Kettering we have had only one of the three scans needed before we can start treatment. My second scan is next Monday, but we don't know when the third one will be...hopefully by the end of next week. The reason it is frustrating is because the headaches have increased, i had another seizure last night and i would just like to get on some medicine to help fight what's going on! I don't mean to complain, so i'll just stop there. otherwise, things have been good. julie (if you've read my blogs, you know she's my best friend/sister) is pregnant and they just found out they are having twins!!!!!!!!!! I think it's starting to settle in for them, but they were in shock for a few days! I'm not going to write long, because it makes my head feel even heavier than it already feels. Hope you have a great day! Oh yes, and Happy Birthday to my Aunt Leigh Ann (who makes all my caps/boggins) and to my mom (a little late, but she knows how special she is to all of us!) Talk soon...

New York never ceases to amaze me. This is the 4th time I've been there and I've never seen so many people. Still love it though. It was a different experience. I wanted to walk because I'm stubborn, but mom, dad and Julie talked me into using the wheelchair, which was an experience in itself. We went to see the Rocketts on Saturday night and it was amazing! I would totally recommend it to anyone. We tried to see Mary Poppins, but weren't able to get a ticket. We went down to see Lady Liberty, but there was a 3 hour wait, so we decided to head up to Central Park. They have tours of the park, which is also pretty cool. They have guys that ride a bicycle with a buggy on the back that you ride in. It takes about an hour and they give you all kinds of history about the park. Sunday, we went to Brooklyn Tabernacle church, which was amazing. The choir is unbelievable and Jim Cymbala (the pastor) is a great teacher.
Tuesday was the doctors appointment. We were pleased to find out that we have some options. I have to get several scans first and then I'll start on chemo. Then we go from there...hopefully this chemo will work. If if doesn't, there is another chemo I can take, but it would require me to stay in the hospital. The third option would be to have surgery again. So, for now, we just wait on scan results and the start of chemo.
I had a really fun surprise for New Year's. My friends Jared Wise and Mike Allen came in. We had a good time and it was SO good to see them! I hope all of you had a great Christmas and New Year....

Yesterday a prayer time was organized at my parents to pray for the circumstance we now find ourselves in. As I've mentioned before, the tumors have grown and we are headed back up to NYC to Sloan Kettering for another opinion. The time spent in prayer yesterday was absolutely precious and I know the Lord heard every single word. I was so overwhelmed and humbled by those who came out to show their support for me and my family. The church is an amazing thing and God intended it for it to be just that. My hope is that as Christians we will be better able to show what the church really is. It's not a building to come to. It's soooooooo much more than that. It's about the greatest commandment and the one that follows. Loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and loving others as ourselves. True love (through Jesus) that runs deep into the soul can and will get us through any circumstance. Merry Christmas everyone!

First, thank you for all the prayers! I'm out of the hospital, just resting and such. Julia came in this past weekend to hang out. And, we did just that....hung out, watched movies and talked (when I was awake). When in the hospital, we found out that a couple of my tumors in my brain have grown. We did get results from another scan which showed both necrosis and active tumor. Our next step is to go back to New York to Sloan Kettering to consult again with Dr. Nolan (the neuro-oncologist). We're leaving the day after Christmas and my appointment is on the 30th. The reason for this visit is because we have exhausted all other options and we are going to see if there is anything at all we can do. I'm optimistic there will be something we can. So, if you don't care to please keep the prayers coming, it would be greatly appreciated...not only for me, but for my family and extended family and friends. Thanks..
God Bless, Sarah
