I've written before about being in the "dark place" or the "pit", the place where you just feel like it is so hard to get out of. Last week I was in the pit big time. I don't know if I've ever cried that much before. I'm sure I have but last week was a really really down week for me. It was horrible. I didn't sleep well, I was sick from my chemo, my body was tired, my head hurt and I was down right frustrated. My papaw came over on Friday to watch me and we talked for about four hours while I cried the whole time. Our conversation was about when I get down physically or emotionally, that's when Satan tries to keep me down and I can feel the oppression. Papaw reminded me that Satan has no control over me and even though we don't know why, not just me, everyone that goes through trials, we're put through these situations. We all have our own trials that we deal with. So Papaw prayed with me and I finally got up to go get a cookie dough ball and I saw a card laying on the counter. Mrs. Peggy Neal, who goes to my church, sends me a card every week and the card that was sitting on the counter was from her. No one except for my family, Liz who stays with me, and Julie (my BF) knew that I was going through this.
I opened the card and the front of it said "May your whole life be so settled and established that all the blasts of Satan and all the storms of the earth will never be able to move you." The inside read "May you feel God's loving presence until the storm has passed." After I read the card, I handed it to my Papaw and said read this. We both had tears in our eyes and he hugged me because we both knew that the card wasn't a coincidence but a reassurance of the Sovereign God who we serve and who knows us down to the core. This is amazing to me that my God loves me enough that he used someone else to work in my life. I hope that Mrs. Peggy realizes what a blessing she is.
That evening at bible school I asked people to pray for me and God has listened and answered my prayers. I can't be taken from God's hand and Satan will not keep me down because Christ is the ruler of my life and I'm in his hands. So I guess this message could apply for anyone that is going through a trial. You've got to remember who our master is. You've got to remember the scripture and that it's ok to ask other people to pray for you because there is strength in numbers. I'm not ashamed to say that I need prayer. If anyone out there reading this, is in a deep dark place just call someone. I don't know if you're a believer or not but God loves you and if you're not a believer, he's waiting. I hope with all my heart that if you're not a believer in Christ, that you will talk to someone and begin the transformation and live the life that God has planned for you. It might not be an easy road because I can testify for that but it's so worth it because I know that when I leave this place I will be living eternally.
We don't know how much time we have left, none of us do and we don't know when our time is going to be up. The truth is, there is a Satan, there is a God, there is a Heaven, and there is a Hell. I pray that all of you, including myself, examine our hearts because there is only one way to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ. He is the way the truth and the light. The end times are near and we've got to be prepared. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I'll write again soon.

I have no idea what religious beliefs my many doctors have, but I did get a huge "lift" compliment the other day. actually is wasn't given to me, it was given to my brother. One of my doctors that is very instrumental in the treatment of my brain said to my brother that i was a miracle because he had never seen anyone in his office that had had as many radiation treatments surguries and chemo and still be here. so, that is pretty cool, right?...such an encouraging comment. I've said throughout my entire experience that everything is in God's hands. I just got back my brain mri and the places in my brain have shrunk! so, let's first thank the Lord and second I want to thank all of you out there that love me, pray for me and are such a blessing to me. We're still doing chemo, but i don't know how many more treatments i will have. i'll write again soon. let's end with God's greatest commandment.
"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this; Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. The second is this; Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29-31
p.s. please pray for my brother and steve willis as they finish up in Africa and their travels home. Thanks!

It has been quite a while since I wrote on here and I'm sorry for that, but this whole typing is frustrating! Hopefully that will get better with time. Let's see...basically the whole month of April has been the same old same old. Lot's of Dr.'s appointments and PT. My best friend Julie and my mom pulled together a surprise 30th birthday party on the 25th. I was COMPLETELY shocked!!! I had no clue. It was a day of feeling just basked in God's love and mercy. Literally there were people here from the west coast to the east coast.
Although it was exhausting, I was so humbled and felt the Holy Spirit just quenching me with all the people that came. I'm learning that even though I have NO clue what is the next step for me, I will forever be grateful for the MANY blessings and just beautiful people He has surrounded me with. So, many thanks for all of you out there that support me in the name of Jesus. I believe that God has performed many miracles in my life and until He chooses my last breath, I will do my best to serve Him wholeheartedly.
Update on chemo and all that jazz: I'm taking chemo every two weeks. It's called Avastin. They also give me a lot of pre-meds (I don't know what they all are), but I have had 3 treatments and were able to complete 2 out of the 3. I'm not sure how long I'll be on this medicine. We'll just take it scan to scan.
Again, thank you so much for your support, love and encouragement.

I know it's been a while since I've written and I do apologize for that. Since surgery and even before it has become more and more difficult to type. So, honestly, instead of getting on here and getting frustrated, I just won't get on to write and I'm sorry for that. It's selfish of me. I started chemo this past Tuesday and it wasn't that bad. I did have a reaction to it and they had to stop it and give me some drug that countered it and the reaction stopped. After a few minutes, they hooked me back up to finish the dose. The rest of the week, I've mostly slept. Literally.
Let's see.... mom and I are reading a book together. It's called Inside the Revolution. It's written by Joel Rosenberg. I would recommend any of his writings. The whole family is still doing good. Jason just got back from San Diego and Jeremy is still working. Extended family (that includes Julie, Hutch and Gracie) are also doing well.
Once again, my aunt is organizing everything for the Komen walk in Charleston. We are having t-shirts made for our team. I would love for everyone to come. Directions for how to sign up are written below.
We're doing a shirt for our team for the komen walk again this year. the shirt is chocolate brown with pink lettering. the front left-chest design says "never give up", and the back is zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save". they're $10 each. if you register with komen for the walk, they include a komen tshirt in your packet. if you would like for me to order one of our team shirts for you, please let me know how many you want and what sizes you need. i need to know by monday, april 20th so that i can place the order for us to have in time for the event day. we are participating again this year in the wv komen race for the cure, to honor sarah beth and to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. it takes place in charleston, wv on may 2. we'd love for you to join us - at the event itself, in fundraising, or both! please help in any way that you can. if you want to join our team as a walker, a runner, or if you want to "sleep in for the cure" (i like that option too!) you can do that online. this link will take you to our team page and you can join/register there. go to http://racewv.kintera.org/faf/r.asp?t=12&i=294247&g=3375127 for more information on this event, go to http://racewv.kintera.org/faf/r.asp?t=3&i=294247 Thank you Leigh Ann for getting this together. If you want a t-shirt, but don't know how to get hold of us, my e-mail is sarah_napier@yahoo.com, or leighannbc@gmail.com.
Thanks again for your prayer and support!! You might not think it's a big deal, but without your encouragement, I think I would give up. Ok, I gotta go now.
